Red Carpet Rundown: 2010 Golden Globes

Rain couldn't damper the glamour at the 2010 Golden Globe Awards, which was a return to the pageantry that's been missing from so many recent red carpet events!

Celebs didn't linger on the soaked red carpet, but we still got a glimpse of some gorgeous trends under their umbrellas!

Non-traditional necklines graced almost every gown. One-shouldered gowns continued to be a major trend: Anna Kendrick (in a white and gold Marchesa gown) , Maggie Gyllenhaal (in peachy pink Roland Mouret), Marion Cotillard (in deep emerald Dior), and countless others went for the Grecian goddess look. Asymmetrical necklines also were huge: Jennifer Garner (in sparkly sand-colored Versace), Jaime Pressly (in gold sequin Kevan Hall) both sported jagged necklines, which added dramatic glamour to their looks. Julianna Margulies spiced up a basic black gown with a red sequined, asymmetrically cut top. Julianne Moore and Penelope Cruz both wore off-the-shoulder- gowns that showed off their decolletage and collarbones.

As always, sparkle was a huge red carpet trend: Jennifer Garner, Toni Collette, and Anna Paquin all wore glittering gowns in champagne and gold shades. Olivia Wilde wore a plunging gunmetal Gucci gown (her hair was a little severe, but we'll give her a pass because of the rain!).

Most stars shunned basic black in favor of color. Blushing beauties Maggie Gyllenhaal, Christina Aguilera, Nicole Kidman, Emily Blunt, Drew Barrymore and Glee's Dianna Agron wore gowns in pale shades of peach and pink, some with a touch of a champagne hue.

Whether drop or chandelier, dangling earrings made a major red carpet appearance. Christina Hendricks, easily my favorite look of the night in a ruffled peach Christian Siriano gown, accessorized her gorgeous dress with dangling diamond earrings. Sandra Bullock followed suit with super long drop earrings. Mariah Carey sported serious chandeliers, while Courteney Cox wore dazzling large topaz drops that almost looked like chocolate diamonds. Kate Hudson's dangling fringe earrings were an interesting accompaniment to her white Marchesa gown.

Oversized rings ruled the red carpet: stars like Sandra Bullock and Kristen Bell added pop to their ensembles with large cocktail rings.

The accessory on almost everyone's lapel: multi-colored ribbons for Haiti's earthquake victims, a timely nod to the tragedy in the Caribbean.
