Anna Sheffield Designs Affordable Target Line

All of my friends are raving about the new accessories Anna Sheffield has created for Target. I had never heard of Anna, so I did a little recon - and checked out her Target line, too.

Sheffield says the inspiration for her work is "that contrast between the rough and tumble tough girl, and the sweetheart or cutie-pie. All girls want to be fierce, but they also want to be kind and loving". Sheffield says that she always wanted to do the sort of things that women weren't supposed to do: box, drive big trucks, and weld. She applied the principles she learned welding to finer metals, and her jewelry line was born. Sheffield draws inspiration from everywhere - music, people she sees on the street in New York. Pieces from the designer's Bespoke collection are made-to-order, embodying Sheffield's fascination with disparity by bringing together fringes of mixed shapes, polished stones like turquoise, spinel, and agate with sterling silver. Her Bing Bang collection features items you might find in a very well appointed costume jewelry chest, with brass and sterling chains, charms and Swarovski crystals, and hearkens back to bygone eras.

While Sheffield's work is a lot more affordable than a lot of designers', her Target line incorporates her aesthetic for a whole lot less - particularly with pieces like the Anna Sheffield for Target Ornate Drop Earrings ($39.99), Chain Hoop Earrings ($29.99) and White Cubic Zirconia Heart Ring ($19.99). I also really like the Charm Bangle ($49.99), which is reminiscent of items from the higher end Bing Bang collection.
