If you’re as tired of winter as we are, you can’t wait for warmer weather and the cute, breezy looks that go with it!
One of the best ways to refresh your wardrobe and get ready for spring is to inject some color into it! Scarlet red, blush pink, silver, bright yellow, lavender are the hottest colors right now - so no matter what your skin tone, you can always find an anecdote to the blacks, grays, and more drab colors that seem to dominate our winter wardrobes.
Many of these hues are showing up in the bold prints that are popular for spring. Thanks to technology, designers are able to create patterns and designs not even possible a decade ago (above, Twenty8Twelve by S. Miller tank). As with most trends, less is more - wear a printed top, jacket or shoe with neutrals to avoid overdoing the trend.
We’ve seen textures and architecture in clothing of seasons past, but soft draping in materials like jersey, cotton and silk is all the rage for spring, judging from collections by designers like Jason Wu, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger and Nina Ricci (above, Tommy Hilfiger jersey dress with suede detail). For once, being fashionable also means being comfortable, too! Look for tops and dresses with soft shaping and pair them with pencil skirts, straight pants or a tailored jacket. Edgy shoes also look amazing with these softer shapes.
Short has been in for awhile, and this spring, it continues to be the way to wear dresses and skirts. To best wear the trend, don’t show off too much skin - keep necklines demure.
Spring into spring with a hot new look!
